There are only three pieces of information required to calculate the cost of running
almost any electrical device:

  1. Power - measured in kilowatts (kW) 1 kW = 1000 W
  2. Time – measured in hours (h)
  3. Rate – measured in cents per kilowatt-hour (¢/kWh)
