NB Power ready for winter storm

Fredericton, N.B. :  NB Power is prepared for the coming storm predicted to bring a variety of weather across the province including heavy, wet snow, freezing rain, ice pellets, rain and high winds Monday night and all day Tuesday.

Customers are reminded to also prepare themselves and their families for severe weather and the potential for weather related power outages.

In preparation for the storm, NB Power crews have moved to key areas throughout the province. Contractor crews have also been secured in advance to ensure a rapid response. The utility has approximately 100 crews ready to respond to weather-related outages if they occur.

NB Power crews are fuelling/stocking trucks, moving snow machinery and snowmobiles in advance of the storm to be ready to respond as soon as it is safe to do so.

When the storm has passed and it is safe to do so, crews will be dispatched to assess damage. Meanwhile, crews will address high priority outages according to NB Power’s response protocol.

If your power goes out during a storm, you can search for, and report your outage on NB Power's mobile site by entering your phone number or account number or by calling 1 800 663 6272.

In advance of the storm remember to:
