Fredericton N.B – NB Power is advising customers to be on alert for fraudulent phone calls from individuals potentially posing as NB Power employees. These individuals are requesting to gain access to the customer's home under the guise of conducting an inspection of their water heater. NB Power will only come to the customer's home to service water heaters at the request of the customer.

Customers who receive calls from individuals making these claims are strongly encouraged to report the incident immediately to their local police force, the RCMP or the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at 1-888-495-8501 or www.antifraudcentre-centreantifraude.ca/.

NB Power also reminds customers to be cautious when receiving phone calls requesting their financial information, or offering products and services. If you doubt you are speaking with an NB Power employee, contact NB Power toll-free at 1-800-663-6272 or by email at customerservices@nbpower.com.
