Board of Directors

New Brunswick Power Corporation (NB Power) is a Crown Corporation owned by the Province of New Brunswick. The largest electric utility in Atlantic Canada, NB Power delivers power to 400,000 direct and indirect customers, and generates electricity at 14 facilities and one solar farm in the province.

As the world is changing, NB Power is on the cusp of a transformation being driven by their desire to meet customers’ evolving expectations while placing NB Power in a stronger financial position and continuing the path to cleaner, greener energy. This transition is occurring at a time of rapid and unprecedented change in the energy sector.

The utility wishes to remain an industry leader through this period of change as detailed in the 2023-2035 Strategic Plan – Energizing our Future and is seeking up to three new Directors to serve on its Board of Directors.

Call for Board Directors
In order to accomplish the 2023-2035 strategic goals and to complement the Board’s existing skills and qualifications, NB Power is seeking a combination of the following skills and abilities:
• board governance experience
• proven senior leadership in a large complex environment
• demonstrated experience in exercising sound judgment
• ability to effectively communicate and work collegially as part of a board of directors
• experience advising on large, complex transactions
• experience leveraging technology for business results or/and leading cultural transformation would each be considered an asset

Commitment / Compensation
Candidates for the NB Power Board must be available to devote the time and effort required to fulfil the responsibilities as a Director and Committee member of the Board. The Board convenes for a minimum of four board meetings and two special meetings annually.

Directors receive an annual retainer, as well as compensation for attendance at meetings or for duties performed, in accordance with the by-laws. Appointments are for up to five years with provisions for reappointment.
