About NB Power Transmission
NB Power Transmission owns and operates the transmission system used to carry electricity from generating stations and other supply sources over long distances to the consumer distribution network, large industrial customers, and export markets.
The system is comprised of terminals and switchyards linked by 6,829 km of transmission lines ranging in voltage from 69 kV to 345 kV.
NB Power Transmission shares responsibility for system operation with the New Brunswick System Operator - a provincial government agency. In addition to reliable transmission service, we provide secure of transmission facilities and ensure operating efficiency. The system is designed, constructed and operated to withstand incidents such as the loss of supply on individual lines to cascading outages.
