NB Power is proposing a three-year plan. The proposed annual rate increase is 5.5%. The estimated impact is $13.25 per month for the average residential customer using 1,350 kWh per month. Actual bill impacts will vary depending on electricity use.

The infographic attributes 84% of the increase to reliability and modernization, 15% to higher operating costs and 1% to other factors.

Over the past three years, investments totalled $1.288 billion: $981 million in generation and $307 million in transmission and distribution. The application proposes reducing connection and reconnection fees from approximately $76 to just over $9 for customers with smart meters.
