Smart meters are one of the ways NB Power is modernizing the power grid to provide you with the best possible service into the future.

Smart Grid Atlantic

To build tomorrow’s power grid for New Brunswick and the Atlantic region, we need to research and test future energy technologies right here at home.

Siemens Partnership

NB Power is partnering with Siemens Canada to build a smarter, cleaner, more resilient and efficient power grid.

Conservation Voltage Reduction

NB Power has partnered with Siemens, Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) and the National Research Council (NRC) on a Grid Modernization Research and Demonstration Pilot Project.

Electric Vehicles

Electric vehicles not only benefit the environment by decreasing CO2 emissions; they can also contribute to grid modernization by responding to grid demand by charging during off-peak times.

Having the grid’s energy near the point of consumption helps the entire system run more efficiently in its distribution of energy and reduces the strain of maintaining constant power streams.
